John Leguizamo loves performing in front of a crowd because it’s like therapy!
The actor, comedian and voice artist who’s back on the stage with his one-man show, Ghetto Klown, at the Lyceum Theatre in New York says he likes to spill his guts.
“I love spilling my guts out for you,” Leguizamo says at the beginning of Ghetto Klown, which opened Tuesday.
“You’re like free therapy. I should be paying you tonight.”
Leguizamo also revealed that it has taken him so long to get back on stage because his parents got upset after seeing their son air the family’s dirty laundry. Both even threatened to sue.
“I realized being on stage is my religion,” Leguizamo says. “Sharing my unhappiness on stage is my happiness.”
