Michael Lohan: 'Lindsay won't change name!'

Michael Lohan has denied that there is any truth to the recent rumours that his daughter Lindsay and the rest of his family are considering changing their family name.
It was claimed earlier this week that the majority of the Lohan family, aside from Michael, are intending to revert back to Dina Lohan's maiden name Sullivan, while Lindsay herself simply wants to be referred to by her first name from now on.
Michael Lohan has vehemently denied the validity of these claims, and suggests that they are just more lies being told by his ex-wife Dina Lohan.
"I don't think it's true at all," Lohan explained to CNN . "I would never imagine any of my kids changing their name, especially Lindsay."
When asked why he was so sure that the rumours were false, Lohan insisted that he had heard from Lindsay herself to clarify the situation.
He added: "I got word from Lindsay. Dina has said a lot of things over the years that have never come to fruition."
Michael Lohan was charged with a misdemeanor for domestic violence earlier this week, for an alleged altercation with his live-in girlfriend Kate Major.
Meanwhile Lindsay Lohan could be saved from a jail stretch for probation violation on a legal technicality, it has been reported.
The Mean Girls actress is due to go before Judge Stephanie Sautner next month afterrejecting a plea deal offered in her felony grand theft case, which stems from the troubled star's alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace from a California store in January.
Judge Sautner will determine whether Lohan is guilty and assess whether the incident amounts to a violation of her parole at a preliminary hearing in the state. Lohan will serve time in jail if found guilty of either accusation.
TMZ predicts that prosecutor Danette Meyers will use police officer testimony to make her case against Lohan, as is the norm in preliminary hearings. However, the site claims that under California law, Jude Sautner will not be allowed to consider "hearsay" involving key witnesses to violate Lohan's parole. She will instead be forced to spare the 24-year-old or delay her ruling until after the felony grand theft trial.
Lohan may still serve jail time for probation violation even if she is cleared of her theft charge, as the standard for determining the former is much lower than that required to convict someone of a crime.
Legal experts have previously speculated that Lohan will avoid returning to jail even if found guilty of stealing the necklace.
