Cate Blanchett hasn't seen script for The Hobbit!

Cate Blanchett is out of the loop!

The actress has signed up to appear as ethereal character Galadriel in Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit which recently began shooting in New Zealand but she does not know how big her role will be or what it is she will be doing.

“Obviously Galadriel is only a small part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but it was probably the best three weeks I ever had,” Cate said.

“I haven’t seen a script yet, so I don’t know what I’ll be doing. Obviously Galadriel doesn’t factor very strongly in ‘The Hobbit’. I think it’s in the middle of the year that it is happening.”

Cate recently insisted she has no interest in looking younger than her 41 years.

The Aussie actress has sworn off getting plastic surgery to fight the aging process.

“There’s so much pressure and fear to do all that surgery stuff but I’m really not interested in looking 25 again,” she declared.

“There’s a temptation when you get older to put on more make-up, but I try to keep mine looking natural. Even on screen if you’ve got heaps on, it acts as a mask and as an actor, it’s all about taking off a mask and revealing emotion.”
