Matthew McConaughey wants to turn his old journals into digital documents so he can relive the memories of his past for the rest of his life.
The actor says he kept a written record of his rise to fame, and is now worried the browning pieces of paper will eventually become too tattered to read.
“I write a lot. I have handwritten journals stacked four feet high from over the years. I try to take a week off every year to go through them and transfer them to disk on a computer,” Matthew said.
“Last year it was really cool to open up a diary from 1989 and see I’d written down 10 goals. I’d completely forgotten
what they were, and you know what? I had all 10 of them done. One was to make a living acting. Another was to be healthier in mind, spirit and body at 40 than I was at 20.”
Matthew who has a son, Levi, two and 14-month-old daughter Vida with his girlfriend Camila Alves recently revealed how his children give his life more meaning.
“I’ve got more to live for now, that’s for sure!” he said.
“Obviously, you stop living as much for ‘me’ and living for ‘we’. Everything I’m doing, my kids are doing with me… every move I make has to do with them.
“And now they’re my epic. I make films, but that’s my… they’re my epic.”
