Glenn Close is one tough cookie!
The actress apparently refused to quit filming and delay production when she suddenly fell ill on the set of Damages even though a medic immediately hooked her up to an IV in her dressing room to stave off dehydration.
“It helped a lot that trouper Glenn hung on for that one day when she started feeling sick,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer, “because producers were able to shoot around her until she was strong enough to work a few days later.”
Reports last month claimed Close is to play Susan Boyle in a film of her life.
“The film is full steam ahead now the leading role is sorted. It was always going to be a tricky one to cast. Susan’s incredible story is so well-known across the planet that the film is bound to go down a storm,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.
“Glenn has played some imposing women
in the past including Alex Forrest, who boils the pet rabbit in Fatal Attraction. But this might just be her biggest role yet.”
Discussions for the film had been ongoing for some time, and although Susan, 49, wanted little known TV actress Elaine C Smith who is also from Scotland to play her on the big screen, bosses wanted a major Hollywood name for the role and decided on Glenn, 63, early on.
Shooting on the movie is rumored to be going to start this year.
