Daniel Radcliffe honored by Trevor Project award

Daniel Radcliffe is to be honored by the Trevor Project for his work with the organization to prevent LGBTQ youth suicides.
The Harry Potter star will receive the Hero Award from the Trevor Project in New York City in June. The award recognizes someone who has served as an inspiration to LGBTQ youths and increased understanding of the community. Past recipients have included Nathan LaneDustin Lance Black and Vanessa Williams.
“It’s fantastic,” Radcliffe told The Associated Press. “The fact that they think of what I’ve done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honor.”
Since 2009, Radcliffe who is currently appearing in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying has appeared in public service announcements and made public statements in support of the Trevor Project.
Radcliffe recently insisted he accepts he will never again achieve the career success he has had with Harry Potter.
The British actor is getting ready for the release of the final movie in the franchiseHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and while Daniel hopes to continue working as an actor, he is under no illusions that he can match the popularity of the boy wizard series.
“My aim is hopefully just continuing to work as much as I can,” Daniel said. “Obviously I’ll never be in anything with the commercially success that Harry Potter has but then again neither will anyone else.
